An ISIS supporter has been jailed for 50 years in Germany for the mass stabbing of nine people in Berlin’s main train station.
Marlon W., whose real name is only known as Marlon, admitted carrying out the brutal attack in the German capital on May 22, 2017.
The 29-year-old carried out the attack at the main train station, stabbing nine people and injuring five.
All the injured victims were under 30 and none were seriously hurt.
The ninth victim was a train driver who was stabbed in the neck and taken to hospital by a colleague.
Marlon, who was an Isis supporter, tried to plead guilty to two counts of attempted murder before his trial in Berlin state court last month.
But at his trial, the court heard the 29-year-old launched a ‘defensive’ attack at the train station, attacking random people while ‘frantically’ searching for a victim.
According to the Berliner Kurier, when police questioned him, he said: ‘They had it coming. They had it coming to Germany.’
The 29-year-old did not deny his involvement in the attack, but he claimed he was acting in self-defence.
German prosecutors said that Marlon had no contact with anyone on the far-right.

The 29-year-old said he had been under stress following the death of a ‘former friend’, and added that he had been sleeping on the streets for the past week, before the attack, Deutsche Welle reports.
Marlon carried out the attack on his first day of an internship with a company in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg district.
On the day of the attack, police said that Marlon had made no threats to the public before the attack be359ba680
